A New Documentary About Digital Nomads & the Laptop Lifestyle by Laura Langheinrich
It seems lately everyone’s talking about the “digital nomad lifestyle”.
Quit your job. Make money online. Ditch the 9-5 grind and travel the world.
These are some of the most common taglines you hear and see. There are tons of websites, coaches, ebooks, podcasts, and videos out there that claim they can show you how to make this dream a reality. And it does sound pretty great, right? I should know, I did it.
As more and more people become curious about this new laptop lifestyle and the people who live it, there are lots of questions and even more myths out there. This 15-minute documentary made by Laura Langheinrich features 11 women who have already taken the leap and can tell you the real story – tropical diseases and all. (Full disclosure: I’m one of them!)
It was pretty fun to see how so many people who have never met and are scattered across the globe can have the same ideas and realizations … in fact, it’s inspiring!
TL;DW? (Too long; Didn’t Watch): Dropping everything and everyone that’s familiar to you, selling all your stuff, setting out to see the world, and trying to make a living at the same time, is exhausting, challenging, and honestly kind of sucky sometimes. But it’s also empowering and 100% worth it.
I am so grateful to Laura for taking on this project and for including me. I hope you enjoy the video. To all the aspiring digital nomads out there – plug your nose and jump!
Interesting lifestyle. Would love to see the practical guide about the same from you…

Thank you for the feedback! I do plan to write a post about how I got my residence permit for EU. And you can also see some insights into how and why I did this via these two posts: https://operationgone.com/2017/04/04/gettinggone-howtogetridofstuff/
